When does the MZ ChurchFIT Challenge start?

The MZ ChurchFIT Challenge begins at the kick-off launch taking place on Saturday, January 28th, 2017 from 8:30am – 10:30am at the Antioch location. Doors open at 7am.

How long will the Challenge last?

The Challenge will last approximately 7 months. It starts on Saturday, January 28th and ends on Sunday, August 27th.

Is there a deadline for registration?

Registration is online only and will be available all year around. HOWEVER, we highly recommend that if you plan on attending the MZ ChurchFIT launch on Saturday, January 28th, that you register ahead of time to avoid standing in long lines. Yes, participants will also be allowed to register on site at the launch, but you will have to stand in line to do so.

Is there a cost to participate?

This program is completely FREE. You must be at least 12-years-old to participate in the ChurchFIT Challenge and to enter the adult workout areas. There will be a KidzFIT workout area (ages 4-12 years) and Childcare (ages 1-3 years) the day of the launch.

Do I have to be in shape to participate in this Challenge?

No, absolutely NOT. This program was created to help people of all levels establish healthy, lifestyle changes reach their own personal goals.

Can I participate in this Challenge with a team or as an individual?

You can participate either as an individual or as a team. If you want to form a team, please note that teams must have a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 12 people.

How can I register for ChurchFIT?

There are three ways you can register:

  1. Returning Participants:

If you participated in MZ ChurchFIT 2016, you have already been sent an email with your SAME ChurchFIT Membership # from last year and a private link to your own personal registration page. Follow the link and the instructions provided. You will see that you will have the same membership # from last year and you will need to fill out the registration form and electronically sign a new waiver for this year. It is important that you use the link sent to you to register as this will connect all of your past information to your current information so that you can see your progress over not just one year but over two years!

  1.      b)  New Participants:

You can register online by going to mtzionnashville.org and clicking on the ChurchFIT Challenge icon, which will take you to the registration pages.

  1.     c)  Register Your Team:

You must FIRST make sure everyone on your team has registered as an individual, whether they are new or returning. After each person on your team has registered, you can register your team online by going to mtzionnashville.org and clicking on the ChurchFIT Challenge icon, then clicking on Team Registration. You will need to enter each person’s individual ChurchFIT number so that we can identify them in our system.

What if I participated in 2015 or 2014, how and where do I register?

You will register as a NEW Participant (see above). We are only able to link your data starting from 2016.

What classes are being offered as part of ChurchFIT?

OHB Location:

  • Monday: Zumba/Cardio Jam @ 7pm
  • Tuesday: Cardio @ 6pm
  • Wednesday: Abs @ 6pm
  • Thursday: Zumba @ 6:30pm
  • Saturday: Kickboxing @ 9am

Antioch Location:

  • Monday: Abs @ 6pm
  • Tuesday: Pilates @ 6:30pm
  • Wednesday: Zumba @ 6:30pm
  • Saturday: Cardio @ 9am

When are the weigh-ins? What do I need to bring?

Weigh-ins are the fourth weekend of each month; Saturdays (during the time of the workout class at BOTH locations) & Sundays (before & after services at BOTH locations). All you need to bring is your barcode on your smart device – it will be scanned in a similar way they scan for classes. See the weigh-in dates for our 2017 Challenge below:

Is there a min. # of weigh-ins to qualify for prizes?

Yes, to qualify for grand prizes, participants must weigh in a minimum of three times. However, to qualify for the monthly competition prizes, there is not a minimum number of weigh-ins.

Can you tell me more about the monthly challenges?

This year the ChurchFIT Challenge, will be made up of monthly competitions. Participants will have the opportunity to participate and compete each month as an individual and/or with their team to win the monthly prizes. In addition, grand prizes will be awarded in the Fall for the year.

How will the Challenge record my participation in the program?

Each participant is asked to bring their membership barcode on your smart device, to each class and/or event. Your barcode will be scanned at the door to ensure you are given credit for attending.

Am I required to attend the classes?

No, you are not REQUIRED to attend the classes. However, please note that because the goal of the MZ ChurchFIT program is not to just lose weight, but rather to develop and maintain healthy lifestyle habits and behaviors, you are strongly encouraged to attend the classes in order to maximize the benefit of the program. There are additional points and prizes given for class attendance.
